The LR-01 offers an easy way to extend the distance between 78 kbit/s LonWorks TP/FT-networks using a fibre optic link. The LR-01 is completely transparent to the protocol therefore installation is simple as no new network addresses are needed.
The LR-01 is equipped with either one (LR-01PP) or two pairs of fibre optic receivers and transmitters. This allows the user to build either point to point-, bus- or redundant ring topology fibre links. In a fibre ring, one of the LR-01 units will be ringmaster and will have the responsibility to stop messages from looping around the ring. The LR-01 has a built-in redundancy system that provides for fault tolerance in the fibre rings.
