SDW-550 marine approved by DNV

The SDW-550 is now suited for usage within marine applications with special requirements. The leading international provider of services of managing risks, Det Norske Veritas (DNV) has approved the Westermo unit for marine usage according to DNV Standard for Certification 2.4:2006, IACS UR E10:2006. The approval by the independent third party proves Westermo compliance according to national and international standards.

SDW-550 is an unmanaged Ethernet switch with five copper 10/100 Mbit/s ports with a design for really demanding environments. Galvanic isolation between all ports and full 100 Mbit throughputs together with approvals for both heavy industry and marine makes this one unit unique.

The extensive tests have shown that the SDW-550 meet the requirements set by DNV, which opens a new market for this unit and once again, a Westermo product have been proven to fit well into our concept of Robust Industrial Data Communications - Made Easy.
