• Data rates up to 3 Gbps per radio
• Optimized wireless connectivity using integrated phased array antennas
• Compact IP66 design with easy installation and maintenance
• Radios 180 degrees apart for alignment with onboard node
• Deployment in train depots, other stationary applications
• Flexibility to add additional units (e.g. busy stations, higher throughput needs)
• Uses 57-71 GHz mmWave unlicensed bands
• Supports stationary and low speed applications (< 30 kmph)
• Typical throughput of 1 Gbps at 1 km
The Oryx-7122 is designed and qualified for trackside deployment, offering extended service life and low maintenance requirements. The Oryx-7122 is compliant with EN 50155 for onboard railway applications.
The Oryx-7121 onboard unit operates together with the Oryx-7122 trackside unit to establish a high-capacity mmWave link between the train and trackside infrastructure. Both units feature two radios operating together to provide an aggregated data throughput of approximately 2–4 Gbps per train, maintaining continuous connectivity while the train is moving.
Both the train and trackside units incorporate the RWM6050 dual-modem IC with HYDRA technology from Blu Wireless, together with two-sector electronically steered phased-array antennas operating in the unlicensed 60 GHz spectrum and a quad-core ARM network processor. The units provide flexible network and edge application configuration within a standard, secure Linux environment.
The Oryx-7121 also incorporates advanced cybersecurity capabilities. Wireless links are protected with AES-128 encryption in the standard configuration and AES-256 encryption in the extended-range configuration.
