Change password on all devices

Did you know that WeConfig version 1.5 supports a feature to issue a new password to all devices in a system in one easy step?

One of the biggest cyber security issues on any system is leaving the username and password at the factory default. Changing the password is a time-consuming task, prone to error and requiring a user to access each unit one at a time and manually make the changes. Due to the ever-increasing cyber security threat, relying on security by obscurity is no longer an option.

WeConfig version 1.5 has introduced a new feature to allow an operator to simply and easily change the password on all the devices in a project in one easy to use operation. Simply select the Westermo devices requiring a change of password. Type in the new password once and apply it to all the selected devices without any risk of some devices receiving misspelled passwords. The strength of the password is checked against an algorithm to indicate how easy the password would be to guess or succumb to a brute force attack.

The feature offers a reduction in configuration time and increases security in one easy operation.
