Westermo UK achieves ISO 14001 approval

Westermo Data Communications Ltd is proud to announce that it has achieved ISO 14001 environmental management systems approval, demonstrating that it has the required policies, processes, plans, practices and records in place that define how the company interacts with the environment. Like many organisations, Westermo is committed to the protection of the environment and looks closely at not only reducing its own carbon footprint, but also how its technology can help others achieve greater sustainability.

“Working towards the ISO 14001 standard has allowed us to recognise that, even when you believe you have a low environmental impact, there are still many ways to reduce waste, increase recycling and lower carbon footprint without impacting business efficiency,” explained Alan Bollard, Managing Director. “In the UK, Westermo has already reduced the environmental impact of its business operations and will continue to cut waste and carbon emissions as well as delivering products that can help our customers improve their environmental performance.”

The Westermo group is committed to key environmental directives and legislation such as WEEE and ROHS, and products are also designed to have extremely low power requirements that reduce energy consumption and provide long operational lifetimes that help improve sustainability targets. Westermo remote access solutions allow companies to reduce travel associated with maintenance and system upgrades, lowering carbon footprints. Westermo also has developed technologies that allow the reuse of existing cable for high speed data communications and the connection of legacy systems to the latest IP networks ensuring old equipment can continue to be used.
