Did you know that Westermo WeOS switches support dual power inputs?
In critical field applications, there are often requirements for the power supply to be backed up by a battery. This is to protect the system from ever going down in the event of a power failure. Something that otherwise could lead to profit loss, costly damages and threats to the environment, workers and the public.
Westermo WeOS switches are designed with dual power input, which allows a battery to easily take over as the primary power source in the event of a power failure. The fail-over is seamless and automatic so there is no effect at all on the data communications.
In the event of a power failure, it is essential that the problem is solved quickly to prevent the battery from running out. Westermo switches have a versatile set of functions to trigger an alarm so that any problem can be reported instantly. Alarms can be signalled through SNMP traps, Syslog messages or over the physical I/O connector (where present). This will ensure proper functionality of the network, even if there is a power failure present in a location.
The Westermo range of managed industrial Ethernet switches are designed for use in harsh environments and allow you to build cost-effective, reliable, secure networks.
The Westermo range of industrial layer 3 switches provides enhanced routing functionality, all in a robust, single unit design.
