IP67 rated Viper

Did you know the Viper series of train switches have an IP rating of 67?

The Viper train switches have been retested and achieved an IP rating of 67.  Previously the switches had a rating of IP-65 (sprayed with water).  The IP67 rating means that the Viper can be submerged in water at a depth of 1m for 30 minutes without an ingress of water likely to cause damage.  The IP-67 is sometimes demanded in rail applications or in an application where the Viper will be installed without any additional protective housing.  The food and beverage industry demand a minimum of IP-67 as the production facility is often pressure washed to remove any food waste material.  Automated train and car wash installations also demand IP-65 to 67 switches.
