Did you know all Westermo managed switches are sealed to at least IP40?

The IP (Ingress Protection) rating is used to define how protected an electrical equipment enclosure is against intrusion from foreign bodies such as tools, wires, dirt, moist etc. All Westermo managed switches are rated to at least IP40 meaning that they are protected against any objects greater than 1 mm getting inside the switch. In industrial environments, properly sealed electronics are important as there is a risk that wire clippings, screws or other small objects can fall into the device during installation or maintenance work causing a short circuit. There are also examples of applications where rats and mice have crawled into an electrical cabinet, the result is a short-circuit caused by droppings.
The ingenuitive heat dissipating design of Westermo hardware lets us offer high IP ratings without compromising with temperature specification, which is -40 to +70°C for all managed Westermo switches.
