Westermo Merlin-3103 white listed for Germany’s Nationwide 450 MHz Network

Westermo has announced that its Merlin-3103 industrial cellular router has been whitelisted by 450connect for use in Germany’s nationwide LTE 450 MHz network, the dedicated communication platform for critical infrastructure.

The 450 MHz spectrum is specifically allocated to support secure and resilient communication for sectors such as energy, water, transport, and public services. Operated by 450connect, the nationwide LTE 450 network is designed to deliver long-range coverage, high availability and reliable operation, even during power outages or public mobile network disruptions. Its licensed spectrum and controlled access make it a key enabler for Germany’s critical infrastructure digitalization.

The Merlin router family is designed for large-scale, mission-critical deployments where cybersecurity, long-term availability and lifecycle control are essential. Merlin routers support secure zero touch deployment using Westermo Activator, enabling efficient rollout and management of distributed networks.
