This application allows a configurable number of gateways and access points to be configured depending upon user requirements and is supported by the Westermo Viper switch family ensuring resilient and redundant wired communications between carriages using FRNT.
In addition to the passenger internet service, such a configuration could be utilised to offload wired and wireless sensor data from onboard legacy systems and IIoT sensor networks supporting remote condition monitoring applications.
