Trackside backbone system

Tunnelling a FRNT ring with SSL VPN through an MPLS network

Installing cabling to connect a remote axle counter to a trackside data network system can be very costly and time consuming. Alternatively, if there is an existing external network available close by, SSL (secure socket layer) can be used to create a VPN tunnel to connect to the remote device in a secure manner. This creates a more redundant and cost-effective solution for reaching remote assets along railroad tracks.

  • Use existing infrastructure to create private trackside networks
  • Co-exist with MPLS networks
  • High performing, robust devices certified to EN 50121-4
